What students and teachers say
Real feedback from students and educators using StudyPulse to improve their results.
I wish this existed when I did VCE. I wasted so much time figuring out mistakes, but StudyPulse does it instantly. The mark breakdowns are exactly what you need to improve. Would've saved me hours of stress.
AbbyStudent, Mount Scopus
Honestly the best study tool I've used for VCE, the AI marking is insanely helpful and the mark breakdowns make it easy to see where I can improve. Definitely recommend for anyone trying to up their study scores!
ElliottStudent, Carey Grammar
Extremely impressed with the AI feedback, the mark breakdowns are so helpful. I actually don't know how you made it so effective and there is nothing to improve in my books. All the UI is amazing.
HenryStudent, Camberwell High School
I haven't seen anything like this before. The feedback is detailed, and it actually tells me what to fix. This is going to be so helpful for my 3/4 subjects this year.
DanielStudent, Trinity Grammar
StudyPulse has completely changed how I prepare for SACs. Instead of guessing what the examiner wants, I get specific feedback on every answer. My marks have gone up in every subject since I started using it.
SarahStudent, Year 12
The essay marker is a game changer for English. Students submit their analytical essays and get detailed feedback on structure, evidence use, and metalanguage in seconds. It's like having an extra teacher in the room.
Ms. RichardsonTeacher, VCE English
My students used to wait days for me to return practice exams. Now they get instant feedback on every question through StudyPulse. I can see from the dashboard exactly who needs help, and my marking load has dropped significantly.

For Korean Language, Mathematics, and Inquiry (Social/Natural Sciences) subjects, raw scores are converted into standard scores, percentile ranks, and a stanine grade from 1 (highest) to 9 (lowest). Grade 1 is the top 4%, Grade 2 the next 7% (cumulative top 11%), and Grade 3 the next 12% (cumulative top 23%). English and Korean History use absolute grading instead – fixed score bands where, for example, an English raw score of 90–100 earns Grade 1.
Since 2018 the English section has been graded on an absolute (criterion-referenced) scale rather than the relative stanine curve. Grades are assigned in 10-point bands: 90–100 is Grade 1, 80–89 is Grade 2, and so on. The change was made to reduce excessive private-tutoring pressure and score volatility – under absolute grading, every student who meets the threshold earns the grade, regardless of how others perform.
The CSAT has six sections taken over a single day: Korean Language, Mathematics, English, Korean History (compulsory for all), an Inquiry section (choose from Social Studies, Natural Sciences, or Vocational Studies electives), and an optional Second Foreign Language / Classical Chinese section. Korean History must be passed to receive any CSAT results; most students also sit Korean, Mathematics, and English.
University admission in South Korea has two main tracks: Susi (early admission, roughly 73% of seats) which emphasises school records and extracurriculars, and Jeongsi (regular admission, roughly 27% of seats) which relies heavily or entirely on CSAT scores. Top Seoul universities often require stanine Grade 1 or 2 across multiple subjects for Jeongsi entry. Some Susi applicants also need minimum CSAT grades as a qualification threshold.
In 2025 approximately 554,000 candidates registered – the highest figure since 2018. About 65–67% are current high-school seniors, with the remainder being graduates retaking the exam (called ‘jaesusaeng’). The exam is held on the third Thursday of November each year, and the entire country adjusts schedules – flights are grounded during listening sections and workplaces open late to ease traffic.
Yes. There is no limit on how many times you can sit the CSAT. A significant share of test-takers each year – roughly 30–35% – are graduates retaking the exam to improve their scores. Retakers study at private academies (재수학원) or independently. Universities see only the scores from the sitting the student chooses to submit.
