What students and teachers say
Real feedback from students and educators using StudyPulse to improve their results.
I wish this existed when I did VCE. I wasted so much time figuring out mistakes, but StudyPulse does it instantly. The mark breakdowns are exactly what you need to improve. Would've saved me hours of stress.
AbbyStudent, Mount Scopus
Honestly the best study tool I've used for VCE, the AI marking is insanely helpful and the mark breakdowns make it easy to see where I can improve. Definitely recommend for anyone trying to up their study scores!
ElliottStudent, Carey Grammar
Extremely impressed with the AI feedback, the mark breakdowns are so helpful. I actually don't know how you made it so effective and there is nothing to improve in my books. All the UI is amazing.
HenryStudent, Camberwell High School
I haven't seen anything like this before. The feedback is detailed, and it actually tells me what to fix. This is going to be so helpful for my 3/4 subjects this year.
DanielStudent, Trinity Grammar
StudyPulse has completely changed how I prepare for SACs. Instead of guessing what the examiner wants, I get specific feedback on every answer. My marks have gone up in every subject since I started using it.
SarahStudent, Year 12
The essay marker is a game changer for English. Students submit their analytical essays and get detailed feedback on structure, evidence use, and metalanguage in seconds. It's like having an extra teacher in the room.
Ms. RichardsonTeacher, VCE English

Yes, one account works across all 60+ curricula we support. Your progress, streaks, and subscription carry over automatically between curricula.
StudyPulse supports QCE for Year 11, Year 12. Questions and mark schemes are specific to each level so you're always practising the right material for your exams.
QTAC calculates your Tertiary Entrance Aggregate (TEA) by summing your best five scaled subject scores. That TEA is then ranked against all eligible students in your Queensland age group to produce your ATAR. Only General subjects (which have an external exam) count toward the TEA – Applied subjects and most VET qualifications don't contribute, with the exception of certain AQF Certificate III qualifications.
The TEA (Tertiary Entrance Aggregate) is the sum of your five best scaled scores and typically ranges between 200 and 500. Your ATAR is derived by ranking your TEA against everyone in your Queensland age group. A TEA in the high 400s generally corresponds to an ATAR in the 90s, though the exact conversion shifts each year depending on how the cohort performs.
QTAC uses an iterative 'polyrank' algorithm to scale scores. Rather than applying a fixed scaling factor to each subject, it calculates the average performance across all subjects for students who share the same raw score in a given subject – then repeats this until the scaled scores stabilise. This means scaling reflects the actual academic strength of each subject's cohort rather than a preset adjustment. Specialist Mathematics, Physics, Chemistry, and certain languages historically scale the strongest.
You must complete an eligible English subject to be ATAR-eligible, but your English score only counts toward your TEA if it's one of your five best scaled results. If you perform better in five other subjects, English won't be included in the TEA calculation – though you still need to pass it to receive your QCE.
Applied subjects (like Essential English or Essential Mathematics) don't contribute to ATAR calculations because they have no external exam. However, certain completed VET qualifications at AQF Certificate III level or above can count as one of your five TEA subjects – replacing one General subject slot. Check the QTAC eligibility list to confirm which qualifications qualify.
Medicine at UQ typically requires 99+ plus UCAT. Law at UQ usually sits around 93–96. Nursing varies from around 65 to 80. Engineering and business degrees at QUT or Griffith generally require 65–85. The University of Queensland course guide and QTAC's entry requirement pages are the most reliable source for current cut-offs, as they're updated each cycle.
