What students and teachers say
Real feedback from students and educators using StudyPulse to improve their results.
I wish this existed when I did VCE. I wasted so much time figuring out mistakes, but StudyPulse does it instantly. The mark breakdowns are exactly what you need to improve. Would've saved me hours of stress.
AbbyStudent, Mount Scopus
Honestly the best study tool I've used for VCE, the AI marking is insanely helpful and the mark breakdowns make it easy to see where I can improve. Definitely recommend for anyone trying to up their study scores!
ElliottStudent, Carey Grammar
Extremely impressed with the AI feedback, the mark breakdowns are so helpful. I actually don't know how you made it so effective and there is nothing to improve in my books. All the UI is amazing.
HenryStudent, Camberwell High School
I haven't seen anything like this before. The feedback is detailed, and it actually tells me what to fix. This is going to be so helpful for my 3/4 subjects this year.
DanielStudent, Trinity Grammar
StudyPulse has completely changed how I prepare for SACs. Instead of guessing what the examiner wants, I get specific feedback on every answer. My marks have gone up in every subject since I started using it.
SarahStudent, Year 12
The essay marker is a game changer for English. Students submit their analytical essays and get detailed feedback on structure, evidence use, and metalanguage in seconds. It's like having an extra teacher in the room.
Ms. RichardsonTeacher, VCE English
My students used to wait days for me to return practice exams. Now they get instant feedback on every question through StudyPulse. I can see from the dashboard exactly who needs help, and my marking load has dropped significantly.

FAQ
SACE – Common questions
We're actively building out SACE coverage. Leave your email above and you'll be the first to know when it launches.
StudyPulse covers 86 SACE subjects across Year 11, Year 12. Each subject has questions sourced from real past papers with marking calibrated to the official SACE mark schemes.
Yes, there's a free tier with 3 daily practice submissions, basic AI feedback, 15 AI Tutor messages, and leaderboard access. Premium unlocks 1,000 daily submissions, full question bank access, advanced feedback, handwritten answer scanning, and essay marking from $20/month.
Our AI is trained specifically on SACE mark schemes and examiner reports from Australia. It understands the precise language and criteria examiners use, so feedback is accurate and actionable, not generic advice that could apply to any curriculum.
Yes, one account works across all 60+ curricula we support. Your progress, streaks, and subscription carry over automatically between curricula.
StudyPulse supports SACE for Year 11, Year 12. Questions and mark schemes are specific to each level so you're always practising the right material for your exams.
You need 200 credits in total. The compulsory requirements (50 credits) include: Exploring Identities and Futures at Stage 1 (10 credits), a literacy subject at Stage 1 or Stage 2 (20 credits), a numeracy subject at Stage 1 (10 credits), and Activating Identities and Futures at Stage 2 (10 credits). The remaining 150 credits come from elective subjects, with at least 60 credits required at Stage 2 level. You must achieve a C grade or better at Stage 1 and a C- or better at Stage 2.
SATAC calculates your ATAR from your best 90 credits of Stage 2 study (typically your best five 20-credit subjects, or equivalent). Each subject receives a scaled score out of 20 after scaling adjusts for relative difficulty and cohort strength. Your top three Tertiary Admissions Subjects (TAS) scores plus your next best two scaled scores are summed into a university aggregate, which is then converted to a percentile rank (your ATAR) against the entire age group in South Australia.
Scaling adjusts your raw subject scores to account for differences in subject difficulty and the academic strength of each subject cohort. If students taking a particular subject also perform strongly in their other subjects, that subject may receive positive scaling. Subjects like Specialist Mathematics, Physics, and Chemistry typically scale upward because their cohorts tend to be academically strong across all their subjects. Scaling is recalculated each year based on current cohort data.
Stage 1 subjects are generally studied in Year 11 and are graded A to E by your school. Stage 2 subjects are studied in Year 12, graded from A+ to E-, and include an externally assessed component (typically worth 30% of the final grade) moderated by the SACE Board. Only Stage 2 subjects count toward your ATAR. Stage 1 subjects contribute to your 200-credit total and satisfy prerequisites for Stage 2 courses.
Entry requirements vary widely by course and institution. At the University of Adelaide, medicine requires an ATAR of 99+ plus interview. Engineering typically requires around 80-90. Nursing and teaching programs may require ATARs in the 60-75 range. The University of South Australia and Flinders University publish guaranteed entry ATAR thresholds for most courses annually via SATAC. Check SATAC for current cut-offs as they shift each year based on demand.
Yes. Vocational Education and Training (VET) and community learning can contribute credits toward your 200-credit SACE total. VET certificates at Certificate III level or above can count as Stage 2 credits and may be included in your ATAR calculation if they are recognized Tertiary Admissions Subjects. Community-developed programs and workplace learning can also contribute credits, though they may not all be eligible for ATAR purposes.
