I wish this existed when I did VCE. I wasted so much time figuring out mistakes, but StudyPulse does it instantly. The mark breakdowns are exactly what you need to improve. Would've saved me hours of stress.
AbbyStudent, Mount Scopus
Honestly the best study tool I've used for VCE, the AI marking is insanely helpful and the mark breakdowns make it easy to see where I can improve. Definitely recommend for anyone trying to up their study scores!
ElliottStudent, Carey Grammar
Extremely impressed with the AI feedback, the mark breakdowns are so helpful. I actually don't know how you made it so effective and there is nothing to improve in my books. All the UI is amazing.
HenryStudent, Camberwell High School
I haven't seen anything like this before. The feedback is detailed, and it actually tells me what to fix. This is going to be so helpful for my 3/4 subjects this year.
DanielStudent, Trinity Grammar
StudyPulse has completely changed how I prepare for SACs. Instead of guessing what the examiner wants, I get specific feedback on every answer. My marks have gone up in every subject since I started using it.
SarahStudent, Year 12
The essay marker is a game changer for English. Students submit their analytical essays and get detailed feedback on structure, evidence use, and metalanguage in seconds. It's like having an extra teacher in the room.
Ms. RichardsonTeacher, VCE English
My students used to wait days for me to return practice exams. Now they get instant feedback on every question through StudyPulse. I can see from the dashboard exactly who needs help, and my marking load has dropped significantly.

Every Grade 11 student must sit the EGE in Russian Language and Mathematics. Mathematics is offered at two levels: basic (bazovy) and profile (profilny). The basic level is graded on a traditional 1–5 scale and is sufficient for receiving your school-leaving attestat, but it does not count for university admission. The profile level is scored out of 100 and is required if you are applying to any programme that lists Mathematics as an entrance subject.
Each EGE subject yields a primary score based on the number of correct answers, which is then converted to a test score on a 0–100 scale using annual conversion tables set by Rosobrnadzor. This normalisation adjusts for year-to-year variation in exam difficulty, so a score of 80 represents roughly the same achievement level regardless of the year. The minimum thresholds for university admission are 36 in Russian Language and 27 in profile-level Mathematics. For the school-leaving attestat, the minimums are 24 in Russian Language and grade 3 (out of 5) in basic-level Mathematics.
Universities rank applicants by their total competition score, which sums EGE results in the required subjects (usually three) plus up to 10 bonus points for individual achievements such as olympiad medals, a gold school medal, or volunteer service. Each university sets its own minimum subject thresholds, which are often higher than the federal minimums. Top programmes at universities like HSE, MSU, or MIPT typically require 80+ per subject.
Beyond the two mandatory subjects, students can sit electives from a list that includes Physics, Chemistry, Biology, History, Social Studies (Obshchestvoznanie), Literature, Computer Science (Informatika), Geography, and foreign languages (English, French, German, Spanish, and Chinese). You choose electives based on the entrance requirements of the programmes you plan to apply to – most universities require one or two specific electives per programme.
Current students can retake one mandatory subject (Russian Language or Mathematics) in the reserve days of the same exam period if they fail. To retake elective subjects or to improve a passing score, you must wait until the following year’s exam cycle. Graduates from previous years can register for any EGE sitting as external candidates, and only their most recent scores are used for that year’s admissions cycle.
Basic Mathematics (базовая) is a shorter, simpler exam graded on a 1–5 scale. Passing it (grade 3 or above) is enough to receive your school-leaving attestat but it cannot be used for university admission. Profile Mathematics (профильная) is a more demanding exam scored on the 0–100 scale. If your target programme lists Mathematics as an entrance requirement – which includes engineering, economics, computer science, and natural sciences – you must sit the profile exam.
