What students and teachers say
Real feedback from students and educators using StudyPulse to improve their results.
I wish this existed when I did VCE. I wasted so much time figuring out mistakes, but StudyPulse does it instantly. The mark breakdowns are exactly what you need to improve. Would've saved me hours of stress.
AbbyStudent, Mount Scopus
Honestly the best study tool I've used for VCE, the AI marking is insanely helpful and the mark breakdowns make it easy to see where I can improve. Definitely recommend for anyone trying to up their study scores!
ElliottStudent, Carey Grammar
Extremely impressed with the AI feedback, the mark breakdowns are so helpful. I actually don't know how you made it so effective and there is nothing to improve in my books. All the UI is amazing.
HenryStudent, Camberwell High School
I haven't seen anything like this before. The feedback is detailed, and it actually tells me what to fix. This is going to be so helpful for my 3/4 subjects this year.
DanielStudent, Trinity Grammar
StudyPulse has completely changed how I prepare for SACs. Instead of guessing what the examiner wants, I get specific feedback on every answer. My marks have gone up in every subject since I started using it.
SarahStudent, Year 12
The essay marker is a game changer for English. Students submit their analytical essays and get detailed feedback on structure, evidence use, and metalanguage in seconds. It's like having an extra teacher in the room.
Ms. RichardsonTeacher, VCE English

Each subject in the Certificate of Secondary Education Examination (CSEE) is graded on a scale from A to F based on marks out of 100: A (75–100), B (65–74), C (45–64), D (30–44), and F (0–29). Grades A through D are considered passing. Each grade is assigned points – A=1, B=2, C=3, D=4, F=5 – and your overall Division is calculated from the sum of points in your best seven subjects. Continuous Assessment (CA) contributes 30% and the final exam 70% of the total mark.
Your Division is determined by adding up the grade points from your best seven subjects: Division I requires 7–17 points (mostly A's and B's), Division II is 18–21 points, Division III is 22–25 points, Division IV is 26–33 points, and Division 0 means 34–35 points (a fail). For example, a student with grades A, A, B, B, C, C, D in their best seven subjects would score 1+1+2+2+3+3+4 = 16 points, placing them in Division I.
To proceed to Advanced Certificate of Secondary Education Examination (ACSEE) studies in Form 5 and 6, you generally need Division I, II, or III in your CSEE results, depending on the school and programme. Students aiming for science-based A-Level combinations typically need strong passes (A or B) in the relevant science subjects at O-Level. Selection for government secondary schools offering A-Level is competitive and based on CSEE performance.
The Tanzania Commission for Universities (TCU) manages university admissions through the Central Admission System (CAS). For degree programmes, the general minimum requirement is two principal passes at A-Level (ACSEE) totalling at least 4.0 points. Specific programmes have higher requirements – Medicine, for example, typically requires principal passes with at least C in Physics, Chemistry, and Biology. When you apply through CAS, the system automatically retrieves your NECTA results using your index number.
All Form 4 students must sit a minimum of seven subjects. Compulsory subjects typically include English, Kiswahili, Mathematics (Basic or Additional), Biology, Civics, and History or Geography. Students then choose additional elective subjects from sciences, commercial subjects, or technical/vocational options depending on what their school offers. The exam is held annually in November, with results released in January or February.
The CSEE is the O-Level exam taken at the end of Form 4 (equivalent to Year 11) and covers a broad range of subjects. The ACSEE is the A-Level exam taken at the end of Form 6 (equivalent to Year 13) and focuses on three principal subjects plus General Studies and a subsidiary. ACSEE grading uses a different scale: A (80–100), B (70–79), C (60–69), D (50–59), E (40–49), S (35–39, subsidiary pass), and F (0–34, fail). University degree admission is based on ACSEE results, while CSEE results determine eligibility for A-Level studies.
