What students and teachers say

Real feedback from students and educators using StudyPulse to improve their results.

I wish this existed when I did VCE. I wasted so much time figuring out mistakes, but StudyPulse does it instantly. The mark breakdowns are exactly what you need to improve. Would've saved me hours of stress.

Abby Student, Mount Scopus

Honestly the best study tool I've used for VCE, the AI marking is insanely helpful and the mark breakdowns make it easy to see where I can improve. Definitely recommend for anyone trying to up their study scores!

Elliott Student, Carey Grammar

Extremely impressed with the AI feedback, the mark breakdowns are so helpful. I actually don't know how you made it so effective and there is nothing to improve in my books. All the UI is amazing.

Henry Student, Camberwell High School

I haven't seen anything like this before. The feedback is detailed, and it actually tells me what to fix. This is going to be so helpful for my 3/4 subjects this year.

Daniel Student, Trinity Grammar

StudyPulse has completely changed how I prepare for SACs. Instead of guessing what the examiner wants, I get specific feedback on every answer. My marks have gone up in every subject since I started using it.

Sarah Student, Year 12

The essay marker is a game changer for English. Students submit their analytical essays and get detailed feedback on structure, evidence use, and metalanguage in seconds. It's like having an extra teacher in the room.

Ms. Richardson Teacher, VCE English

My students used to wait days for me to return practice exams. Now they get instant feedback on every question through StudyPulse. I can see from the dashboard exactly who needs help, and my marking load has dropped significantly.

Mr. Chen Teacher, VCE Business Management

StudyPulse supports UNEB for S4, S6. Questions and mark schemes are specific to each level so you're always practising the right material for your exams.
UNEB runs two main exams: the Uganda Certificate of Education (UCE) at O-Level (end of S4) and the Uganda Advanced Certificate of Education (UACE) at A-Level (end of S6). UCE covers a broad range of subjects and determines progression to A-Level, while UACE results are the primary basis for university admission.
Each UACE principal subject is graded from A (highest, 6 points) down through B (5), C (4), D (3), E (2), O for subsidiary pass (1 point), and F for fail (0 points). Your best three principal subjects are summed to produce a maximum possible score of 18 points. With subsidiary subjects included, a perfect score reaches 20 points.
Most degree programs require at least two principal passes (grades A–E in principal subjects) at UACE. In the 2025 UACE results, 68.6% of candidates achieved at least two principal passes. Competitive courses at Makerere University and other top institutions require significantly higher aggregate scores.
From 2024, UNEB moved UCE grading from the old numerical system (D1–F9 with Distinctions, Credits, Passes, and Fail) to letter grades: A, B, C, D, and E. Under the new competence-based curriculum, continuous assessment is also factored in. The new system uses letter grades without the traditional division aggregation, and results determine eligibility for A-Level studies.
Medicine (MBChB) at Makerere is the most competitive program, with government-sponsored cut-offs approaching 48–50 weighted points. Law, engineering, and biomedical laboratory technology also require very high scores. Private sponsorship cut-offs are somewhat lower. Exact cut-off points shift each year based on the applicant pool – check Makerere’s official cut-off lists at mak.ac.ug.
Students typically study three principal subjects and one or two subsidiary subjects at A-Level. Subject combinations must align with the degree program you’re applying for – for example, Medicine requires Biology, Chemistry, and Physics or Mathematics. Universities publish required subject combinations for each program, and your three best principal subjects in the relevant combination determine your admission score.
